Yukon Gold is known in our house as the "Grandpa Blaine Potato" because according to Grandpa Blaine, it is the best potato and the only potato worth growing. For good reason, the man know a great tasting spud!
 
This potato has twice the amount of antioxidants than the white potato. Its creamy and rich yellow flesh makes some of the best mashed potatoes. The distinct nutty and buttery flavour of the Yukon Gold comes from the perfection and breeding in the 1960s originating near the Yukon River. The reason it grows so well for our climate here in the north is because it was bred in our colder climate and conditions of Northern Canada.
